Edge AI Factories
Establish intelligence production where the work happens.
An Edge AI Factory gives an operation a persistent capability to produce intelligence from its data, signals and operating context, where and when that intelligence is needed.
Engineering takeout
Intelligence production becomes operational when the capability around it is engineered as one.

Running AI is not the category
Operations already produce the inputs AI needs: readings, images, events, records, movement and context.
The challenge is not simply running AI against those inputs. It is establishing a capability that keeps producing useful intelligence as the work, conditions and requirements change.
Running AI is not the same as establishing intelligence production.
FACTORY production
Persistent production
Data and signals feed the Factory. Production architecture determines how intelligence is generated. Operating context determines where and how that intelligence is useful. Authority determines what it may influence. Evidence makes what happened accountable.
The operation holds that capability as its work changes.
ENGINEERING TAKEOUT
The Factory keeps producing intelligence as the work changes. The operation puts it to work.
Infrastructure gives an operation somewhere to run things. An EdgeQub Factory gives it something to produce.

From intent to evidence
Intent
01Declare
establish what intelligence the operation needs and the conditions around its production
Defined production
02Compile
resolve those requirements into the production architecture and controls required
Operation
03Execute
operate intelligence production within those defined conditions
Evidence
04Evidence
retain what is needed to understand and account for what was produced and how the capability operated
Not a software delivery lifecycle, not a project methodology.
ENGINEERING TAKEOUT
Intent becomes executable capability, and execution leaves evidence.
FACTORY output / outcome
Production and outcome
Intelligence can inform a decision, trigger a workflow, support a person or participate directly in an operation.
EdgeQub establishes the capability to produce that intelligence. The organisation determines how it is used and remains responsible for the resulting operational outcome.
The Factory produces intelligence. The operation produces the outcome.
FACTORY authority
Authority
Producing intelligence does not automatically give a system permission to act on it.
What the capability can influence, under what conditions and with what human or machine authority has to be established around the production itself.
Ability to act is not authority to act.
ENGINEERING TAKEOUT
Whether the actor is human or machine, the authority to act still has to be established.
FACTORY sovereignty
Sovereignty
Running AI locally changes where computation happens. It does not, by itself, establish sovereignty.
Sovereignty depends on the dependencies the capability relies on, who retains authority over them and whether the operation can continue when those dependencies or conditions change.
Sovereignty becomes real when a dependency is tested. Not when a location is claimed.
ENGINEERING TAKEOUT
Sovereignty holds when the capability and the dependencies it relies on remain under control.
FACTORY configuration
Configured for the conditions.
An Edge AI Factory is a real engineered capability. Its physical and technical configuration follows the conditions in which intelligence production has to operate.
EdgeQub uses modular capability to configure what the requirement demands rather than asking the customer to select a predefined Factory model.
The modules and configuration follow the engineering. They do not determine the operating relationship.
ENGINEERING TAKEOUT
The conditions can change the configuration without changing what the Factory is.
FACTORY operating relationships
How intelligence production participates in the operation
Go · Intra · Weave · Augment are four operating relationships belonging to one Factory capability. They are not products, tiers, stages or a sequence. An estate can use more than one.
ONE FACTORY CAPABILITY
Different ways of participating in the operation.
The work moves, and the requirement goes with it.
Go
The Factory moves with the operation. For campaigns, seasons, relocations and temporary sites, without establishing the capability again at each one.
The decision has to be made where the data is made.
Intra
The Factory sits at the point of work. For large sites and precincts where the point of work keeps moving but the operating environment does not.
The capability is meant to stay, and to be built on.
Weave
The Factory becomes part of how the operation runs. Persistence that is operational rather than physical.
The surface that touches the work is spread out.
Augment
The Factory reaches through the operation’s own interfaces, where people, assets and systems meet the operation.
Engineering takeout
Start with the condition. The Factory follows.
FACTORY end state
Persistent capability
Once established, the operation holds a capability it did not have before.
As the work changes, intelligence production can continue within the architecture, authority and operating conditions established around it.
ENGINEERING TAKEOUT
Establish the capability once. Keep producing from it as the work changes.
See how intelligence production works.
A demonstration lets you experience the capability before deciding what your own requirement may demand.
Scheduled · Physical · Tailored use-case
The demonstration type describes the experience you want. It does not determine a Factory configuration.
FACTORY category questions
Canonical clarifications
Canonical clarifications
01Is an Edge AI Factory AI infrastructure?
An Edge AI Factory is a persistent intelligence-production capability. Infrastructure may be required to establish it, but infrastructure alone does not create the production capability.
02Is a Factory the same as deploying an AI model?
No. A model may participate in intelligence production, but a Factory establishes the broader capability required to keep producing intelligence within an operation.
03What does a Factory produce?
Intelligence. How that intelligence is used belongs to the operation around it. The Factory produces intelligence. The operation produces the outcome.
04Does the physical configuration determine the type of Factory?
No. Physical and technical configuration follows the conditions the Factory has to operate under. Go, Intra, Weave and Augment describe how intelligence production participates in the operation. They do not describe hardware configurations, sizes or product models.
05Does a Factory require an Edge AI Campus?
No. A Factory can be established independently of a Campus. Where the requirement needs dedicated Campus capacity, the two capabilities can be engineered together.
06Does running AI locally make it sovereign?
No. Location is only one condition. Sovereignty depends on the capability’s dependencies, who retains authority over them and what happens when those dependencies or operating conditions change.
07Does producing intelligence mean the Factory can act autonomously?
No. Producing intelligence and having authority to act on it are different questions. The operation determines what the capability is permitted to influence and under what conditions. Ability to act is not authority to act.
